Granada vs Real Betis preview

Betis vs GranadaGranada remained four points clear of the relegation zone despite losing to Athletic Bilbao, but they will have to start winning soon in order to avoid the drop.

Real Betis missed an excellent chance to boost their Champions League hopes as they played out a goalless draw with Getafe, meaning a win at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes would be more than welcome.

This season has been very strange for Granada, given that the team were unable to escape the relegation zone despite playing well in the first half of the league campaign, and now they cannot seem to endanger their La Liga survival no matter how poor they play.

Three wins in four matches during January and February helped los Rojiblancos boost their survival hopes, but the team have been struggling ever since.

They could only pick up two points from next six league fixtures, but were very fortunate to have their relegation rivals also struggle during that period.

As a result, Granada are four points clear of the bottom three with nine games to go, although they could really use a win against Real Betis.

Having said that, los Rojiblancos are 2.38 (11/8) at Coral to beat Real Betis and end a six-match winless run in the league.

Important players Guilherme Siqueira and Gabriel Torje return from suspension, but Diego Mainz and Odion Ighalo are both injury doubts. Dani Benitez, Fran Rico and Hassan Yebda are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Tono – Nyom, Inigo Lopez, Mainz, Siqueira – Torje, Recio, Mikel Rico, Nolito – Ighalo, Aranda.

Real Betis are enjoying one of the most successful seasons in recent history, and it would be a real shame if they end up missing out on European qualification.

Los Verdiblancos have mounted a serious top 4 challenge against all odds, although they have seriously damaged their chances with the last two results.

After losing to direct rivals Valencia at Mestalla, Real Betis could only muster a goalless draw at home against Getafe, meaning they are now four and two points adrift of Champions League and Europa League places respectively.

Los Verdiblancos should, nevertheless, give their best to return to winning ways in Granada and they are 3.30 (23/10) at BetVictor to do so.

However, having picked up just one point from last five away games, they clearly have a mountain to climb at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.

Important players Benat, Joel Campbell and Antonio Amaya are all suspended, but at least there are no injury worries for Pepe Mel.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Adrian – Chica, Paulao, Mario, Nacho – Canas, Igiebor – Castro, Molina, Vadillo – Pabon.
