The Premier League returns this weekend, and the action begins at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime as Everton take on Liverpool in the 221st Merseyside derby.

The hosts, who go in to the game on the back of two consecutive goalless draws, currently sit in sixth place, just five points behind leaders Arsenal.

Roberto Martinez has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, though Antolin Alcaraz may have to wait for his debut despite recovering from a hernia operation.

Top scorer Romelu Lukaku is priced at 6.5 (11/2) with a variety of firms to open the scoring, ahead of fellow Belgium international Kevin Mirallas, who is generously available at 12.0 (11/1) with Bet Victor.

The Toffee’s are 3.0 (2/1) with Bet Victor to take all three points, with Liverpool favourites at 2.5 (6/4) with most bookmakers. The draw is widely on offer at a price of 3.4 (12/5).

Brendan Rodgers’ men bounced back from their defeat at leaders Arsenal with a resounding 4-0 victory over Fulham last time out.

Full-back Jose Enrique will miss the game after being ruled out with a knee injury which is likely to require surgery, while Daniel Sturridge’s condition will be assessed as the striker has been nursing a leg problem in recent weeks.

Luis Suarez, who is fresh from helping Uruguay book their place at next summer’s World Cup finals, is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 6.0 (5/1) with Bet Victor while France’s hero Mamadou Sakho is a 51.0 (50/1) outsider with the same firm.

With no less than nineteen dismissals in the last fourteen years’ worth of clashes between these two sides, you could do worse than consider some of the disciplinary markets on offer.

Bet 365 offer 1.91 (10/11) for there to be six or more cards shown in the game, while Bet Victor offer a price of 3.25 (9/4) for there to be a sending off.

Alternatively, you can take advantage of a fine array of specials on offer from Paddy Power, such as the 7.0 (6/1) given for both Suarez and Lukaku to score at any time.
