Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku could miss all-important fixtures vs Manchester City and Arsenal, it has been revealed.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form this season, bagging 8 goals in 13 Premier League matches, but he couldn’t get on the scoresheet in weekend’s triumph over Brighton.

What is more, Lukaku appeared to have kicked Brighton defender Gaetan Bong and could now receive a retroactive three-match ban.

That would be a major blow to Man Utd’s title hopes considering that the Red Devils will face Watford, Arsenal and Man City in the next three fixtures.

Former Premier League match official Graham Poll seems to believe that Lukaku should indeed receive a three-match suspension for the incident, and it remains to be seen whether the Disciplinary Panel will agree.

“Romelu Lukaku must face a three-match ban once the FA view replays of the incident between the Belgian and Brighton’s Gaetan Bong just before the only goal of the game.” Poll wrote in the Daily Mail.

“Lukaku was impeded as the corner came in but his reaction was extreme, kicking out first with his right foot and then making full contact with his left foot somewhere quite painful.”
