Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito and Maxwell have got a chance to be included in the Champions League semi-final against Real, club’s medical service has confirmed.

With Eric Abidal and Adriano already ruled out for the third El Classico in April, Pep Guardiola is extremely short of options on the left hand side.

Brazilian Maxwell was supposed to start at left-back, but he picked up a groin injury in the weekend’s game against Osasuna and remains doubtful for the Real match.

If Maxwell fails to declare himself fit, Guardiola could use Carles Puyol on the left, while fielding Pique and Mascherano in the heart of defence.

On the other hand, Gabriel Milito picked up a muscle injury in the Osasuna clash, but he should be available for selection, even though Pep Guardiola is unlikely to consider the Argentine for the starting place.

For the time being, Dani Alves and Gerard Pique are certain in defence, while the remaining two places depend on the availability of Maxwell.

The good news is that Pep Guardiola has no worries in the other areas of the team and his Barcelona are 2.75 (7/4) with Victor Chandler to beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
