Levante vs Real Zaragoza preview

Zaragoza vs LevanteIn the midst of match-fixing allegations, Levante play host to relegation-threatened Zaragoza, with everybody wondering whether the hosts will just roll over and let their opponents take maximum points from Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

Los Granotas have done really well to transform themselves from relegation strugglers to a top table side, but club’s reputation has suffered a great deal over the last couple of months.

Nobody can say with certainly that Levante didn’t want to win home games against Deportivo and Celta, but the fact is they have been the subject of match fixing investigation.

The only way for los Grantoas to clear their name is to defeat Zaragoza at home and that is exactly what they are hoping to do.

Juan Ignacio Martinez’s side are 2.88 (17/9) with BetVictor to return to winning ways, but the odds clearly suggest they will not have an easy job.

Key midfielder Jose Javier Barkero is out with a hamstring problem, but good news is he is the only unavailable player at the moment.

Ruben Garcia and Christian Lell are injury doubts, but they are expected to recover in time to face Real Zaragoza.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Navas – Lell, Ballesteros, Navarro, Juanfran – Iborra, Diop – Pedro Rios, Michel, Valdo – Acquafresca.

Real Zaragoza have spent much of the current campaign in the relegation zone, but they are now in a good position to stay alive.

Away defeats to relegation rivals Deportivo and Celta did not prove too costly as the team, nonetheless, managed to leave the bottom three.

Home wins over Mallorca and Rayo Vallecano took Zaragoza out of the relegation zone, but they cannot afford to relax just yet seeing they are just one point above the bottom three.

Los Manos now aim to make a giant step towards La Liga survival by beating out-of-sorts Levante, with away win paying 2.62 (13/8) at Coral.

That could prove to be mission impossible if their opponents play it fair and square, given that Zaragoza have won just one of 24 possible points on the road.

Edu Oriol is the latest casualty, while Franco Zuculini, Javier Alamo Cruz and Ivan Obradovic remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Robert – Sapunaru, Loovens, Alvaro, Abraham – Pinter, Apono – Victor, Rodri, Paco Montanes – Postiga.
