Robin Olsen has expressed his delight at joining Aston Villa from AS Roma.

Premier League club Villa have announced on their official website that they have signed goalkeeper Olsen on loan from Serie A side Roma.

The Sweden international goalkeeper will stay on loan at the Villans until the end of the season.

Olsen spent the first half of the season on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship from Roma.

The 32-year-old is over the moon to have moved on loan to Villa.

Olsen told Villa’s official website: “I’m really, really happy. It’s been a couple of days of waiting to come here, so when I woke up this morning and I knew I was signing for the club I was really happy.

“It was easy (the decision to join Villa). When I heard about it from my agent for the first time, I decided to do whatever I could to change club and sign for Villa. It was an easy choice from the first call I had from my agent.”

Villa are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from 20 matches.

The Villans will take on Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the next lease game this coming weekends.

Steven Gerrard’s side are rated at 11/1 on Betfair to win the match 2-0.
