Roma vs InterA match between second-placed Roma and revived Inter should be a real treat for the fans at Stadio Olimpico, with both sides hoping to come closer to their pre-season objectives with a win.

The Giallorossi did really well to defy the odds and mount a serious title challenge, although catching Juventus at the top could prove to be a very difficult task.

Nonetheless, Rudi Garcia’s side have at least all but secured Champions League qualification and that alone has got to be considered a success.

With Roma having a game in hand on the reigning champions, the Giallorossi are hoping to take advantage of any potential slip-ups by their title rivals, but it is they who face a tricky run of fixtures.

Following the Saturday’s match against Inter, Rudi Garcia’s charges play Napoli and Udinese, and it is after these games that we will see whether they can still be considered serious title contenders.

Nevertheless, having recorded back to back triumphs over Sampdoria and Bologna, Roma are rightly considered 1.70 (7/10) favourites to defeat the Nerazzurri.

Miralem Pjanic, Vassilis Torosidis and Gervinho should be in contention, but Francesco Totti is doubtful and Federico Balzaretti, Andrea Florenzi, Douglas Maicon and Dodo are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Torosidis, Castan, Benatia, Romagnoli – Pjanic, De Rossi, Strootman – Ljajic, Destro, Gervinho.

Following some promising performances in the first part of the season, Inter had a wretched start to the New Year, having failed to win any of their first six matches in 2014.

The poor run saw them crash out of Coppa Italia as well as damage their Champions League hopes, but the arrival of Hernanes from Lazio seems to have provided just the boost that was needed.

Led by the highly rated midfielder, the Nerazzurri enjoyed back to back victories over Sassuolo and Fiorentina, although they were unlucky to have the Brazilian pick up a muscle injury that saw him miss the Cagliari clash.

And despite dominating the encounter, Walter Mazzarri’s side could only muster a 1-1 draw, so they certainly need to show some improvement in order to stop in-form Roma in their tracks.

Winning at Stadio Olimpico may be a tall order, but Inter look a good bet to score a goal at odds of 1.60 (3/5) at Unibet.

Hernanes looks set to return having resumed training with the group, but Hugo Campagnaro is doubtful and Cristian Chivu is sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Handanovic – Rolando, Samuel, Juan Jesus – Jonathan, Guarin, Cambiasso, Nagatomo – Hernanes, Alvarez – Palacio.
