Inter vs Juventus preview

Juventus vs InterWith two teams that have won nine of last eleven Serie A titles between them set to square off at Giuseppe Meazza after enjoying winning starts to the new league campaign, chances are this will be a real festival of football.

Having largely struggled since winning the last of their five league trophies in a row, the Nerazzurri are hoping they can finally return to the right track this term.

The club chiefs did well to sign their long-term target Walter Mazzarri, but while they recruited quite a few players this summer, there have been next to none high-profile arrivals.

Even so, the new boss seems to have quickly managed to rebuild the squad, although it is clear there is still a lot of work to be done.

Nevertheless, hard-fought victory over Genoa and impressive 3-0 triumph at Catania are enough to suggest this team’s got potential, although the Juventus match is where they need to prove their worth.

Having won all three competitive fixtures this season without conceding a goal, Inter are 3.60 (13/5) with BetVictor to defeat the reigning champions.

With Diego Milito still doubtful through injury, Rodrigo Palacio should continue to lead the line, and the Argentine is 3.40 (12/5) at SkyBet to score in his fourth successive match this term.

Mateo Kovacic returns from a back problem, but Javier Zanetti, Cristian Chivu and MacDonald Mariga continue to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Handanovic – Campagnaro, Ranocchia, Juan Jesus – Jonathan, Cambiasso, Kovacic, Guarin, Nagatomo – Alvarez – Palacio.

It was Juventus that ended Inter’s run of five straight league titles, with the Bianconeri winning an extremely interesting title race with AC Milan before adding another league trophy last term.

During that time, the Old Lady have just been getting stronger, so no wonder they are again seen as the main candidates for the Serie A trophy.

And while summer signing Fernando Llorente and Angelo Ogbonna have yet to make an impact, Carlos Tevez has done brilliantly to slot straight into the starting line-up.

Just like his compatriot at Inter, the 29-year-old scored in all three official matches this season, and he is 2.75 (7/4) with Betfred to continue his amazing run.

Following the 4-0 triumph over Lazio in Italian Super Cup, Juventus recorded a narrow victory over Sampdoria before again hammering the Biancocelesti, this time at home in the league.

Given the form they are in, it is not too hard to comprehend why Sportingbet have made Juventus 2.15 (23/20) favourites to win at Meazza.

Andrea Barzagli and Mirko Vucinic are both doubtful, but Claudio Marchisio, Simone Pepe and Martin Caceres are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah – Tevez, Quagliarella.
