Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio believes his side can make a real statement by winning the weekend’s derby game against Inter.
The Serie A rivals are two of five teams that have maximum points after two Serie A rounds, but a clash at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will see one of the two sides drop their first points of the campaign.
Juventus star Claudio Marchisio is hoping for a victory, but states that his teammates cannot afford to underestimate the Nerazzurri.
“Inter have always made it difficult for us,” Marchisio told reporters. “They beat us last year and also have a new coach. They are capable of playing good, fierce football.
“For us to beat a strong team like Inter on the third day of the season would be a real boost of confidence.”
The Italy international is set to miss the derby clash through injury, just like Martin Caceres, who has torn a meniscus in his knee on international duty.
