Fiorentina vs SienaArch rivals Fiorentina and Siena are set to battle it out for a place in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, with the Serie A side obviously the favourites to go through.

Viola have been on a major uptrend over the last few years and it appears they are close to returning to old glory days.

This new project at Artemio Franchi is meant to turn the club into genuine title contenders in Serie A, and the first signs have been more than positive.

After narrowly missing out on a Champions League berth last season, Viola have again mounted a serious top 3 challenge and they currently sit just three points behind third-placed Napoli.

In spite of the serious injury problems, the team have seriously raised their form of late, winning five of last six matches on domestic stage, without conceding a single goal in the process.

And while the Serie A campaign remains a priority, Vincenzo Montella does not want to miss such a good opportunity to make it to Coppa Italia semi-finals, especially with local rivals Siena on the other side.

It is for that reason that the talented boss is set to field a very strong line-up in midweek, so no wonder his side are 1.29 (2/7) favourites to win the match in regular time.

New signing Alessandro Matri, who scored a brace on his debut, is set to start after shaking off a calf problem, whereas fellow arrival Anderson could also play a part.

However, Mario Gomez, Giuseppe Rossi, Nenad Tomovic and Ahmed Hegazy (all knee) remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Neto – Roncaglia, Rodriguez, Savic, Pasqual – Aquilani, Pizarro, Valero – Joaquin, Cuadrado – Matri.

A six-match losing run in the season finale saw Siena relegated to the second division, with the team subsequently slapped with a seven-point penalty in Serie B.

Had it not been for the ban, Robur would now be vying for promotion places, but they instead sit in 14th place in the standings.

And while it looks they won’t be able to join the chase for promotion in the league, Siena seem to be playing their best football in Coppa Italia.

While defeating Pisa at home, Robur beat Serie A sides Livorno (1-0), Bologna (2-1) and Catania (4-1) on the road, and they are now 7.50 (13/2) to shock their local rivals and qualify for the semi-finals.

Boss Mario Beretta is expected to field his strongest side at Artemio Franchi, and the good news is he has no fresh injury worries at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-3): Lamanna – Giacomazzi, Dellafiore, Matheu – Angelo, Valiani, Pulzetti, Feddal – Rosina, Paolucci, Giannetti.
