Manchester City forward is likely to miss the FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester United after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3:0 defeat to Liverpool.

The Argentine was substituted just 15 minutes into the Liverpool game and Roberto Mancini admits that Tevez is unlikely to recover in time.

“I think that it is very difficult for him to play on Saturday. Probably we will try to recover him but it’s difficult.”

“We have only five days so it’s very difficult for Saturday but I think that in two weeks he can return.”

Manchester City’s promising season threatens to go up in smoke following the embarrassing 3:0 defeat at Anfield, with the absence of Carlos Tevez set to diminish their chances in the FA Cup semi-final.

With Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli largely struggling to prove their potential, City are likely to have big problems up front, so backing United to keep a clean sheet at odds of 2.75 (7/4) offered by Bet365 looks like a good bet.

United are 2.25 (5/4) at Sportingbet to claim victory in regular time, with draw quoted at 3.20 (11/5). Bet365 pays 3.30 (23/10) on away win.
