Sampdoria vs Genoa preview

The fierce rivals will not only be fighting for bragging rights in Derby Della Lanterna, but also for the win that would take one of the teams to safe distance from the bottom three.

Sampdoria enter the game on the back of the 3:1 victory over Bologna, which saw them put an end to four-match losing run and coach Mimmo Di Carlo is expected to field the same line-up that started against Bologna.

This means Massimo Maccarone and Jonathan Biabiany will continue up front, with Federico Macheda waiting for his chance from the bench.

Genoa remained in the bottom part of the table as they could only bring one point from Bari, so the timing of this game is far from perfect for the Rossoblu.

Just like his counterpart, coach Davide Ballardini should stick to the same side that drew with Bari, meaning that Jankovic, Veloso and Paloschi again start from the bench.

Bet365 sees Sampdoria as favourites here, offering 2.63 (13/8) on home win, while Genoa are 2.88 (15/8) to win the game. Draw pays 3.00 (2/1).
