Bari vs Inter

Bari remained to the bottom of the standings following the defeat to Cagliari and the hosts don’t have much to hope for before the visit of Inter. The Neroazzurri climbed to fourth after coming from two goals behind to beat Palermo and they are looking to build on that performance and win this game.

Bari destined for Serie B

Following the impressive league campaign last season, which Bari finished in top part of the table, the club management decided to cash in on players like Rannochia and Bonucci, to name just a few, thus upsetting the balance of the team. As a result, Bari quickly started struggling despite winning their opening game against Juventus and they are now destined for the return to Serie B. Having lost last five games in all competitions, the Biancorossi are now seven points adrift of safety and they enter this game completely out of confidence. Following the home defeats to Bologna and Napoli, Bari can hardly hope to fare much better against high-flying Inter, so sixth successive defeat looks on the cards.

Abdelkader Ghezzal and Paulo Barreto remain sidelined, while Alessandro Parisi returns after missing the Cagliari defeat through suspension.

Great transfer window for Inter

After their seven-match run came to an abrupt end in Udine, Inter showed a lot of character by eliminating Napoli from Coppa Italia after penalties, before coming from two goals behind to beat very good Palermo side in Serie A. The two victories did wonders for the players’ confidence and with injury worries finally over, everything suggests the Neroazzurri are set to continue the good run of results. The club management succeeded in their quest to reinforce the squad in January, having brought Pazzini, Kharja, Nagatomo and Rannochia, all of whom will be in contention for the Bari game. Inter have shown a massive improvement in their away form of late and they are expected to beat Bari with few goals to spare.

Wesley Sneijder is back from injury and that will be a big boost for the visitors, while Samuel and Suazo are training separate from the team in their attempt to regain full fitness.

Verdict

Bari are all over the place at the moment and they seem to have come to terms with relegation to Serie B. Inter, on the other hand, are stronger than ever and playing well at the moment, meaning their win shouldn’t come into question. With Bari completely out of confidence, Inter could record a big win at San Nicola.
