Ethiopia vs NigeriaNigeria are well in the driving seat following the 2-1 victory in the first leg, but the Super Eagles need to ensure they get the job done and qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Ethiopia may be in an unfavourable position at the moment, but they are not yet ready to give up on their place at the tournament finals.

Following what was a very difficult decade for the national team, Nigeria have finally started playing to their potential of late to the delight of the entire nation.

The Super Eagles impressed to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, beating almost all title contenders on the road to the trophy, before winning their 2014 World Cup qualifying group in style.

Stephen Keshi’s side went through the qualifying campaign unbeaten, finishing five points clear of second-placed Malawi to make it to the play-offs.

And even though it was Ethiopia who took the lead in the first leg some month ago, two goals from Emmanuel Emenike ensured the Super Eagles carry a one-goal advantage into the return leg.

With the team now in very good spirits ahead of the return match against Walya Antelopes, it is hardly surprising home win pays 1.25 (1/4).

Nosa Igiebor and Uche Nwofor both miss out through injury, but key players Moses, Emenike, Mikel and Musa are fit to feature.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Enyeama – Ambrose, Oboabona, Egwuekwe, Echiejile – Onazi, Mikel – Oduamadi, Moses, Musa – Emenike.

Ethiopia national team have soared to unimagined heights over the last few years, with their first ever AFCON qualification acting as a major confidence boost.

And the Walya Antelopes were not there only to make the numbers up, but they rather impressed in a very strong group that included then reigning champions Zambia and new champions Nigeria.

Sewnet Bishaw’s men took their excellent form into the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, where they pipped South Africa to the first place in the group, having picked up 13 points from 6 matches.

Even if the team went on to lose the first leg of their play-off tie against Nigeria, they certainly should not be written off just yet, with Paddy Power paying 34.00 (33/1) on Ethiopia to qualify.

Talented forward Getaneh Kebede returns to the side after missing the first leg with a knee injury, but striker Saladin Said will be the man to watch in the visiting side.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Tassew – Tesfaye, Hailu, Debebe, Butako – Assefa, A. Girma, Megersa, Teshome – Said, Bekele.
