Lyon vs NiceFifth-placed Nice will be level on points with their next opponents ahead of the final game of the season if they defeat them on Saturday evening, while Lyon would virtually secure the final Champions League berth with three points from Stade Municipal du Ray.

Les Aiglons have been without a doubt the biggest surprise package of the season, with the team that fought for survival last season playing some amazing football this term.

Nice have been riding the way of the bright start to the league campaign and with just two games to go they are still effectively in the race for Champions League places.

The heavy defeat to relegation-threatened Evian last weekend was certainly a big blow to their European hopes, and Claude Puel’s side are now in danger of missing out on Europe alltogether.

Nevertheless, everything will change if they manage to defeat Lyon on Saturday, with home win paying 2.60 (8/5) at BetFred.

It is also important to note that Nice have won four of last five matches at their Stade Municipal du Ray, although numerous selection problems are making life difficult for the hosts at the moment.

Nemanja Pejcinovic returns to the side from suspension, but Valentin Eysseric is banned and Kevin Anin, Camel Meriem, Neal Maupay, Xavier Pentecote, Jeremy Pied and Mahamane Traore are unavailable.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ospina – Puel, Civelli, Pejcinovic, Kolodziejczak – Digard, Abriel – Diaz, Bruins, Bautheac – Cvitanich.

Lyon, too, damaged their European dream with a defeat at the weekend, losing at home to new champions PSG, but Remi Garde’s side are still masters of their own destiny.

With just two games to go, les Gones are three points clear of Nice and Lille and have a superior goal difference to both sides, which means they can virtually get the job done at Stade Municipal du Ray.

Lyon haven’t been too impressive on the travels this term, but they did show some improvement to win their last two away fixtures against Montpellier and Nancy, which gives them confidence before the trip to Cote d’Azur.

Even if they would probably settle for one point from this match, you should know les Gones are 3.00 (2/1) with Paddy Power to claim maximum points.

Boss Remi Garde doesn’t have too many selection problems at the moment, although young midfielder Rachid Ghezzal is suspended, while Remy Vercoutre and Alexandre Lacazette are out injured.

Dejan Lovren is doubtful through injury, but Milan Bisevac is expected to be recalled to the starting line-up after sitting out the PSG clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lopes – Fofana, Kone, Bisevac, Umtiti – Malbranque, Gonalons, Grenier – Lisandro, Gomis, Gourcuff.
