Milan vs Napoli preview

Not too many people could have predicted that Milan and Napoli would be fighting for the Serie A title before the season started, but that is how things stand at the moment.

The Rossoneri managed to forget the Champions League defeat to Tottenham and they stayed three points clear of Napoli by beating Chievo last weekend.

Maxi Allegri’s side can now make a giant step towards the Serie A title, although numerous injury problems are not making things easy for the talented coach.

First-choice left-back Luca Antonini has been ruled out for two weeks with a thigh strain, with Urby Emanuelson or Massimo Oddo set to start on the left hand side.

Kevin-Prince Boateng has finally returned to contention, but Pirlo, Bonera, Inzaghi  and Ambrosini remain sidelined.

Having just dropped out of Europe, Napoli can fully focus on their domestic exploits with the game against Milan the most important one this season.

Walter Mazzari managed to rest his key players against Villarreal, meaning Cavani, Cannavaro, Aronica, Maggio and Pazienza will be restored to the starting line-up.

Ezequiel Lavezzi serves the second game of the three-match ban, with Giuseppe Mascara and Jose Sosa vying for a second place in attack. Gianluca Grava is out injured.

888Sport has the best price on the market on home win as they pay 1.83 (5/6) on Milan, with the best odds on Napoli 5.25 (17/4) at Victor Chandler.
