Napoli vs Lazio preview

Title contenders Napoli are set to welcome very good Lazio side in what should be a great game at San Paolo Stadium.

The Partenopei are just three points behind leaders Milan and could even further close that gap by winning this game since the Rossoneri are set to host bitter rivals Inter on Saturday.

Walter Mazzarri’s side have beaten Parma and Cagliari in their last two games, but there is no doubt they face a tough task against Lazio, even if the Biancocelesti largely struggle on the travels.

Mazzari will be able to field a very strong side since Gianluca Grava is the only unavailable player at the moment. The attacking trident of Lavezzi, Hamsik and Cavani will remain intact.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): De Sanctis – Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Aronica – Maggio, Pazienza, Yebda, Dossena – Hamsik, Lavezzi – Cavani.

Following the impressive performances in the first part of the season, Lazio have started to slip down the Serie A standings, mostly because of the poor results on the travels.

The Biancocelesti have won their last three home games, but failed to bring any points from last two away games, and they will be very motivated to end the poor run.

Lazio remained five points behind Napoli after beating Cesena at home, and they now have a great chance to close that gap to two points.

Nonetheless, that will not be an easy task as the visitors will be without Diakite, Ledesma, Meghni, Radu and Matuzalem.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Muslera – Lichtsteiner, Biava, Dias, Garrido – Gonzalez, Brocchi, Mauri – Hernanes – Sculli, Zarate.

Napoli are the favourites here, with Paddy Power paying 1.80 (4/5) on home win, whereas Lazio are 5.50 (9/2) to win the game at Victor Chandler.
