Hertha vs WerderHaving returned to winning ways in Braunschweig, Hertha will attempt to keep their European hopes alive by pouring more misery on struggling Werder.

The team from Bremen are low on confidence following the 7-0 defeat to Bayern Munich and have picked up just one point in last four.

Hertha Berlin needed just one year to return to the elite division having suffered relegation in 2012, and the team largely impressed on their return to the top flight.

The Old Lady excelled in the opening exchanges to prove everyone they will not be fighting for mere survival and they currently sit in seventh place in the overall standings.

And while back to back home setbacks against Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg acted as a blow to the players’ confidence, Hertha did well to get their campaign back on track by defeating bottom-placed Eintracht Braunschweig on the road.

And with their next opponents going through all sorts of problems, it is hardly surprising Hertha are 1.65 (13/20) to extend the good run of results.

Full-back Johannes van den Bergh is doubtful through muscle injury, whereas Sebastian Langkamp, Alexander Baumjohann and Anis Ben Hatira are definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Kraft – Pekarik, Lustenberger, Brooks, van den Bergh – Cigerci, Hosogai – Skjelbred, Ronny, Schulz – Ramos.

Werder Bremen have been on quite a downtrend for a while now, and it appears the arrival of coach Robin Dutt did nothing to improve the club’s fortunes.

Despite starting the campaign with back to back triumphs over Eintracht Braunschweig and Augsburg, the Weserstadion outfit have been utterly disappointing since, winning just two of next thirteen league fixtures.

And while the team did well to avoid a third straight defeat as they came from two goals behind to earn a 4-4 draw at Hoffenheim, they were powerless to prevent a 7-0 home loss to reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Boss Robin Dutt will want to see a response from his players following such a disappointing defeat, and you should know away win pays 6.00 (5/1).

Starting right-back Clemens Fritz is doubtful through a hamstring problem, whereas Sebastian Prodl, Lukas Schmitz, Zlatko Junuzovic and Felix Kroos are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Wolf – Fritz, Lukimya, Caldirola, Garcia – Bargfrede, Makiadi – Elia, Hunt, Ekici – Petersen.
