Getafe vs Real Betis preview

Having picked up just one point from first four games, Getafe have no choice but to try and win this match, even if surprise leaders Real Betis are on the other side.

Getafe have established themselves as genuine top table side over the last few years, so to say everybody in Spain were  surprised by their dismal start of the season would be an understatement.

Los Azulones did sell several key players this summer as Derek Boateng, Manu del Moral, Juan Albin and Dani Parejo all left, but just one point from first four games has got to be considered a terrible return nevertheless.

Getafe enter the match with high-flying Betis on the back of three straight defeats, so odds of 2.62 (13/8) offered by Victor Chandler on home win don’t look too tempting.

Jaime Gavilan, Oscar Ustari and Rafael Lopez remain sidelined, but full-back Tsepo Masilela should be fit to play after shaking off a minor knock.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Moya – Torres, Lopo, Diaz, Masilela – Perez, Lacen – Casquero, Barrada, Castro – Miku.

While Real Betis were tipped to do the best out of all promoted sides, not even their most optimistic fans could have hoped for such a bright start to the season.

Four games into the season and los Verdeblancos have yet to drop a point in La Liga, having won all four games so far.

Pepe Mel’s side took great advantage of easy fixture list at the start of the season, but the players still need to be congratulated for the amazing feat.

Obviously, nobody expects Betis to remain at the top of the table, but los Verdeblancos just want to enjoy while it lasts and they are now 2.88 (17/9) with Stan James to make it five in a row.

Boss Pepe Mel faces a real selection headache as Ruben Castro continues to miss out, whereas Chica, Benat, Salva Sevilla, Montero and Santa Cruz are all injury doubts. Keeper Casto is suspended.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Goitia – Chica, Amaya, Dorado, Perez – Etxebarria, Iriney – Pereira, Juanma, Montero – Santa Cruz.
