Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich preview

Bayern vs BVBHaving secured an all-German final by beating El Clasico rivals, Dortmund and Bayern will battle for Bundesliga supremacy when they square off at Signal-Iduna Park.

The Millionaires have long ago lost all chances to win the league title for the third time in a row, but this is a perfect opportunity to show everyone that Bayern’s 20-point advantage in the standings is somewhat misleading.

Once again, the derby match between the two giants is not going to have any effect on the title race, with Borussia’s failure to win those smaller games costing them dearly this season.

When it comes to big matches, they have been pretty impressive in that department, as witnessed by some amazing showings in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, they held Bayern to a 1-1 draw at Alianz Arena in the league, although they did lose at the same ground in the DFB Pokal.

This is a good opportunity for the hosts to gain some psychological advantage over their bitter rivals ahead of the Wembley date, with home win paying 3.25 (7/4) at BetVictor.

Mario Gotze misses the match against his future employers due to a muscle problem, while Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Robert Lewandowski and Sven Bender are all injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Widenfeller – Grosskreutz, Santana, Hummels, Schmelzer – Kehl, Sahin – Hofmann, Gundogan, Reus – Schieber.

Next Bayern manager Pep Guardiola is going to have his work cut out for him when he takes over from Jupp Heynckes as I just don’t see how the Bavarians can play any better than this.

The team have been absolutely brilliant this season and it’s now a matter of keeping the rich vein of form as long as possible.

With Bundesliga and DFB Pokal trophies already in the bag, Bayern impressed to reach the Champions League final for the second year running, with the 7-0 aggregate victory over Barcelona likely to make it to the history books.

The Bavarians may not have much to play for at the moment, but a win over their arch rivals would certainly come in handy.

Bayern are 2.30 (13/10) at Ladbrokes to extend their winning run to twelve games, and 4.20 (16/5) with Coral to keep another clean sheet.

Jupp Heynckes is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the starting line-up, although he will have to make do without Holger Badstuber and Toni Kroos.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Lahm, Van Buyten, Dante, Alaba – Martinez, Schweinsteiger – Muller, Pizarro, Shaqiri – Gomez.
