Mweene scores a penalty vs NigeriaFollowing an impressive 4-0 win over Ethiopia, Burkina Faso only need one point to qualify, whereas the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions have got to win this game in order to qualify for the quarter-finals.

After salvaging one point with the last kick of the game against Nigeria, the Stallions tackled Ethiopia high on confidence, searching for a much needed victory.

Everything looked to be going according to plan when Alain Traore scored the opening goal, but keeper Soulama’s sending off on the hour mark appeared set to spoil the party.

Nevertheless, the Burkinabe showed a lot of character to score three goals with ten men on the pitch and edged closer to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win over Ethiopia.

Having done so well in the first two fixtures and with Zambia not exactly on top of their game, Burkina Faso can be backed at 3.20 (11/5) offered at Ladbrokes.

Keeper Abdoulaye Soulama is obviously suspended for the Zambia game, with Daouda Diakite set to deputize.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Diakite – Koffi, P. Koulibaly, B. Kone, Panandetiguiri – D. Kone, Kabore – Sanou, A. Traore, Pitroipa – Bance.

The 2012 AFCON title added an extra pressure on the Zambia side ahead of the tournament in South Africa and that was quite visible in their first two group games.

While the shocking playing surface was certainly one of the reasons for the under-par showing against Ethiopia, the Chipolopolo produced a better performance against very good Nigeria side, but again looked to be heading for a very disappointing result.

That is until they were awarded a somewhat dubious penalty and keeper Kennedy Mweene, who had earlier played a part in John Obi Mikel missing from the spot, stepped up to convert the penalty with incredible ease.

As a result, the Chipolopolo are now masters of their own destiny, given that a win over Burkina Faso would see them qualify for the quarter-finals.

Zambia are 2.40 (7/5) with Sportingbet to see off the Burkinabe, while keeper Kennedy Mweene is 9.50 (17/2) at BetVictor to score his second goal of the tournament.

Boss Herve Renard has been boosted by some good news from the medical team, with defenders Stophira Sunzu and Joseph Musonda both resuming full training.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Mweene – Musonda, Nkausu, Sunzu, Mbola – Lungu, Sinkala, Chansa, Kalaba – Mbesuma, Mayuka.
