Kuban Krasnodar vs SwanseaBuoyed by the derby win over local rivals FK Krasnodar, Kuban hope a victory against group leaders Swansea will help them revive their qualifying hopes.

Meanwhile, the Premier League side will be aiming to make amends for the derby defeat to Cardiff City, which should make for an interesting encounter in Russia.

Kuban Krasnodar are another Russian club that have been investing considerable amounts of money into the playing squad over the years and that has seen them seriously raise the club’s profile.

Having finished last season in fifth place, leaving several high-profile sides behind them, Kazaki added few more quality players to their ranks in the summer such as Djibril Cisse, Mohammed Rabiu, Lorenzo Melgarejo and Gonzalo Bueno.

Back to back wins over Anzhi and local rivals FK Krasnodar saw them climb to the top half of the Russian Premier League standings and now it’s time to try and show some improvement in Europe as well.

After losing to St Gallen and Valencia, Kuban managed to hold Swansea to a 1-1 draw, but they now need to defeat the Welsh side if they are to have any chance of progressing to the next stage.

And with the hosts in pretty good form at the moment, you should know home win pays no less than 2.88 (17/9) at Betfred.

New boss Victor Goncharenko is unlikely to make any changes to the side that defeated FK Krasnodar at the weekend, meaning Djibril Cisse will again be left on the bench.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Belenov – Kozlov, Xandao, Dealbert, Zhavnerchik – Kabore, Fidler – Ignatyev, Popov, Bucur – Balde.

Despite seriously reinforcing the squad over the summer, Swansea were always going to experience some problems in an attempt to successfully compete in two major competitions.

It looks as though the Europa League campaign has taken the wind out of their sails as Michael Laudrup’s side have been struggling in the Premier League, picking up just four points from last five league matches.

The 1-0 defeat to bitter rivals Cardiff City was especially disappointing, but at least their Europa League campaign is going according to plan.

Swansea impressed to record back to back triumphs over Valencia and St Gallen, while they remain top of the group in spite of the somewhat unfortunate draw with Kuban.

A victory in Russia would see the Swans secure their place in the next stage, with away win available at 2.65 (33/20).

The visitors will be missing star forward Michu, who is out with an ankle problem, whereas Pablo Hernandez remains sidelined. Ben Davies is back in contention.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Tremmel – Rangel, Chico, Amat, Davies – Canas, Britton – Dyer, De Guzman, Routledge – Bony.
