Feyenoord vs Kuban KrasnodarFeyenoord face a tough task in the return leg after losing 1-0 in Russia, although the team did manage to end their losing run at the best possible time.

Their opponents continued with impressive results by beating Ural at home and will now fancy their chances of reaching the Europa League group stages.

Last season showed that Feyenoord are slowly returning to where they belong, as they stayed in the title race until the very last minute, while missing out on the final Champions League berth by virtue of goal difference alone.

Operating on a tight budget, the club couldn’t really make any high-profile signings this summer, but at least they managed to keep hold of their key players.

However, in spite of some good showings in pre-season, Feyenoord had one of the worst starts to a season in recent history, losing first three Eredivisie matches before recording a 1-0 defeat in Russia.

Ronald Koeman’s side have since managed to return to winning ways, having beaten NAC Breda at the weekend, and they are 2.45 (29/20) with BetVictor to see off Kuban as well.

Key defender Daryl Janmaat has returned into action following a two-week spell on the sidelines, but Jean-Paul Boetius and Elvis Manu continue to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Mulder – Janmaat, de Vrij, Martins Indi, Nelom – Clasie, Immers, Vilhena – Schaken, Pelle, Armenteros.

Kuban Krasnodar largely impressed last season to achieve a fifth-place finish in Russian Premier League, leaving the likes of Rubin, Dinamo and Lokomotiv to trail in their wake.

That proved enough for Europa League qualification, and club chiefs in turn ensured the squad were heavily reinforced this summer.

In addition to several home-based players, Kuban signed Djibril Cisse, Mohammed Rabiu and Gonzalo Bueno, although Aras Ozbiliz, Vladislav Kulik and Aleksey Ionov all left.

Dorinel Munteanu’s side enjoyed a bright start to the new campaign, picking up 9 points from first 6 league matches, while also impressing in Europe.

After the 3-0 aggregate victory over Motherwell was followed by 1-0 home triumph against Feyenoord, the Russian side are 1.30 (3/10) with Unibet to make it to the group stages.

Boss Dorinel Munteanu has no fresh injury worries, but Ibrahima Balde and Angel Dealbert should be recalled after they were rested at the weekend. New signing Mohammed Rabiu is ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Belenov – Kozlov, Xandao, Dealbert, Bugaev – Tilsov, Kabore – Tsoraev, Popov, Bucur – Balde.
