Suarez

As we head into another international break, three players are tied on eight Premier League goals in the race for this season Golden Boot.

One of those players – Liverpool’s Luis Suarez – is currently the favourite to win the award at a price of 3.5 (5/2) with William Hill.

Despite missing the first five league games of the season, the Uruguayan finds himself tied with teammate Daniel Sturridge and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero at the top of the goal-scoring charts, and shows no signs of relenting as his side looks to land their first league title in twenty-four years.

Sturridge, who has been in superb form since moving to Merseyside in January, is an 11.0 (10/1) shot with Coral, with Aguero available at 7.0 (6/1) with Sky Bet.

Second favourite to finish on top is Robin van Persie, who has taken the accolade each of the past two seasons.

Should the Dutch international, who scored his seventh of the season with the winner against his former club Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, come out on top he will become only the third player to have won the award three seasons in succession.

Former Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer was victorious in ’95, ’96 and ’97 while ex-Arsenal hero Thierry Henry won in ’04, ’05 and ’06.

Van Persie is wildly available at 5.5 (9/2) to get his third straight gong, while the man who replaced him at the Emirates, Olivier Giroud is 17.0 (16/1) with William Hill.

The France international has hit five goals in eleven appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side helping them to the top of the division.

Wayne Rooney, who has also hit five so far this season, is a 21.0 (20/1) chance with William Hill ahead of Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo and Loic Remy, who are both available at 26.0 (25/1) with a number of bookmakers.

Other names worth considering are Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Tottenham Hotspur’s Roberto Soldado and Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke who are all 41.0 (40/1) with William Hill while Fernando Torres of Chelsea is a 67.0 (66/1) shot with Bet 365.
