Manchester United will look to move a step closer to clinching a twentieth league title as they take on West Ham United at Upton Park this evening.

The Hammers go in the game with the Premier League status all but secured following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton.

Victory tonight would see them move into the top half should Fulham lose to Chelsea.

There could also be a potential gap of ten points between themselves and the bottom three, depending on Wigan Athletic’s result at Manchester City.

Sam Allardyce has a defensive headache ahead of the game with James Tomkins, George McCartney and Winston Reid all struggling for fitness, so Emanuel Pogatetz could make a rare start.

Andy Carroll is 10.0 (9/1) with Paddy Power to get the first goal of the game, with Kevin Nolan a 13.0 (12/1) shot with the same firm.

The home win is available at 5.75 (19/4) with Bet Victor, with United odds on at 1.7 (7/10) with the same firm. The draw is a 4.0 (3/1) shot with a variety of bookmakers.

The visitors go in to the game on the back of Sunday’s 2-0 win at Stoke City, and could all but wrap up the championship with another three points tonight.

If the league leaders win, and second place Manchester City lose to Wigan Athletic, they will be eighteen points clear with the current Champions having just that amount left to play for.

Sir Alex Ferguson could recall Jonny Evans or Chris Smalling in place of Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic, while Wayne Rooney could move upfront, with Tom Cleverley possibly coming into midfield.

Robin Van Persie is favourite to open the scoring having ended his ten game goal drought from the penalty spot last time out.

Paddy Power offer 5.0 (4/1) for the Dutchman to net first, while Rooney is a 6.5 (11/2) shot with Bet 365.

United are unbeaten in three meetings with the Hammers this season, having won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford 1-0 back in November before achieving the same score-line in the FA Cup third round replay having drawn the original tie 2-2.

The 1-0 away win is priced at 9.0 (8/1) with William Hill, whilst you can back the 1-0/Van Persie scorecast at 23.0 (22/1) with the same firm.
