Wayne RooneyManchester United boss David Moyes has revealed that Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are nearing their return from injury after the pair misses the 1-0 triumph over Stoke.

Both forwards were missing as the Red Devils recorded their fourth consecutive Premiership triumph that saw them climb to sixth in the overall standings.

And with high-profile clash against Tottenham at Old Trafford next, the Scottish manager is hoping at least one of the two players will return into action on Wednesday.

“I would expect Rooney to probably be back on Wednesday, but he’s got an adductor injury which kept him out of the Stoke game,” Moyes told the club’s official website.

“Ideally, we’d like to have a bit longer than three or four days between each game, but we’re not getting much time at this time of the season.

“Robin has started some light training, and he might not be too far away either. We haven’t often had them as a strike partnership, so I look forward to getting them back together.”

Manchester United are priced at 1.67 (2/3) to extend the impressive run of results, whereas they are 2.10 (11/10) for a top 4 finish.
