DamiaoInternacional striker Leandro Damiao could be joining a top European club in the summer transfer window, according to the player’s representative.

The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to Europe, but it appears as though Inter’s high asking price has proved to be an obstacle to any deal.

Nevertheless, Damiao’s official representative claims they are talking with a European club, with Tottenham and Southampton being linked with a move for the 23-year-old.

“There is a club interested,” agent Jorge Machado told UOL.

“We have been talking with Internacional for many days, but we have to wait. Inter have set a value, which is very significant, so we need to have more talks.”

The Brazilian giants are holding out for €25 million, but they might have to lower their asking price if they are to cash in on their prized asset.

With Tottenham still searching for a centre forward, Spurs are 2.25 (5/4) with BetVictor to sign Damiao this summer, while Southampton are no less than 7.00 (6/1).

The highly rated forward missed Brazil’s Confederations Cup triumph through injury, and now faces a real battle on his hands to return into the international reckoning.
