South Korea name final World Cup squad

South KoreaSouth Korea boss Hong Myung-Bo has surprised everyone by already naming his 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

There have been no major surprises in the squad, with the coach calling up a total of nine players who ply their trade in European clubs.

Despite making just two league appearances this season, Arsenal forward Park Chu-Young has kept his place in the side after impressing in the qualifiers.

Championship stars Lee Chung-Yong and Yun Suk-Young will also be making an appearance at the tournament finals.

Korea Republic secured their World Cup berth in spite of the defeat to Iran in the final qualifying match, and they have since played a host of friendlies all over the world.

The Taegeuk Warriors will face Tunisia and Ghana in their final two warm-up games before they kick off their campaign in Group H at the World Cup.

With Belgium, Russia and Algeria also in their group, Korea Republic are available at 3.00 (2/1) to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Goalkeepers: Jung Sung-ryeong (Suwon Bluewings), Kim Seung-gyu (Ulsan Horang-i), Lee Bom-young (Busan I’Park);

Defenders: Kim Jin-soo (Albirex Niigata), Yun Suk-young (QPR), Kim Young-kwon (Guangzhou Evergrande), Hwang Seok-ho (Sanfrecce Hiroshima), Hong Jeong-ho (Augsburg), Kwak Tae-hwi (Al Hilal), Lee Yong (Ulsan Horang-i), Kim Chang-soo (Kashiwa Reysol);

Midfielders: Ki Seung-yeung (Sunderland), Ha Dae-sung (Beijing Guoan), Han Kook-young (Kashiwa Reysol), Park Jung-woo (Guangzhou R&F), Son Heung-min (Bayer Leverkusen), Kim Bo-kyoung (Cardiff City), Lee Chung-yong (Bolton Wanderers), Ji Dong-won (Augusburg);
