South Korea vs AlgeriaHaving shared spoils with Russia few days ago, South Korea can make a giant step towards the next stage by defeating Algeria on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Les Fennecs missed a great opportunity to shock favourites Belgium as they had to settle for a 2-1 defeat despite taking the lead through Sofiane Feghouli.

South Korea are making their eighth successive appearance at the World Cup finals and they are hoping to progress from the group stage for the third time.

The Taeguk Warriors did not have a perfect build up to the tournament finals, having lost four of five friendly matches, which is why not too many people believed they would get something from the Russia game.

South Korea, nonetheless, managed to score a lucky goal midway through the second half, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw as Aleksandr Kerzhakov levelled the score just several minutes later.

And with Belgium their final opponents in Group H, the Taeguk Warriors are 2.38 (11/8) to see off Algeria and keep their qualifying hopes alive.

Boss Hong Myung-Bo has no fresh injury worries and could decide to stick to the side that started the Russia game.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Sung-Ryong – Yong Lee, Young-Gwon, Jeong-Ho, Suk-Young – Chung-Yong, Sung-Yeung, Kook-Young, Ja-Cheol – Chu-Young, Heung-Min.

Despite finishing the qualifying campaign seven points ahead of Mali before defeating Burkina Faso in the play-offs, Algeria were seen as major underdogs in Group H.

Nevertheless, three victories in the final warm-up games gave Vahid Halilhodzic’s side plenty of confidence and they produced a very good performance against star-studded Belgium side.

Algeria deservedly took the lead through Sofiane Feghouli and looked impressive at the back for large periods of the match, but were eventually unable to cope with the sheer quality of Belgium attackers and ended up losing 2-1.

Even so, Les Fennecs should be buoyed by the strong display against one of Europe’s top sides, and they are now 3.40 (12/5) to make things right against Korea.

Carl Medjani is doubtful with a groin problem, while boss Vahid Halilhodzic reportedly plans to make six changes to his starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): M’Bolhi – Mandi, Cadamuro, Bougherra, Ghoulam – Lacen, Bentaleb – Feghouli, Brahimi, Djabou – Ghilas.
