Greece vs NigeriaHaving frustrated Portugal in a weekend’s friendly in Lisbon, Greece will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Nigeria at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The Super Eagles twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Scotland, with boss Stephen Keshi expected to field a much stronger side against Greece.

The Euro 2004 triumph saw Ethniki make it to the biggest stage and the national team have since done well to qualify for four of next five major competitions.

Having reached the quarter-finals at the Euro 2012, Greece made it to the 2014 World Cup through the play-offs, but they have already showed they will be a tough nut to crack at the tournament finals.

Fernando Santos’ side largely impressed to hold Portugal to a goalless draw in their first warm-up game, and they will be hoping to build on that performance when they face Nigeria.

And with their next opponents also expected to attack from the off, there is no need to discard the trademark counterattacking approach.

This means Greece will have a decent chance of winning the game in Pennsylvania, with home win paying 2.40 (7/5) at Unibet.

Boss Fernando Santos is expected to make some changes to the starting line-up, with only Sokratis Papastathopoulos missing through a hamstring problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Tzorvas – Torosidis, Vyntra, Moras, Holebas – Karagounis, Maniatis, Katsouranis – Fetfatzidis, Samaras – Mitroglou.

Nigeria had largely struggled to live up to the potential until recently, but the fans are hoping the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph will change everything.

The Super Eagles failed to match world’s top sides at the 2013 Confederations Cup, crashing out in group stage after defeats to Uruguay and Spain, but they have shown some potential in recent international friendlies.

After sharing spoils with Mexico in March, Nigeria showed a lot of character to twice come from behind against in-form Scotland, earning a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.

And with almost all key players missing the clash, boss Stephen Keshi has plenty of reason for optimism at the moment.

Taking into account that star players will return for the Greece game, there may be some value in backing Super Eagles at 3.40 (12/5).

The likes of Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, John Obi Mikel, Efe Ambrose and Emmanuel Emenike are all pushing for starting places.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Enyeama – Ambrose, Oboabona, Omeruo, Echiejile – Mikel, Onazi, Mba – Musa, Emmenike, Moses.
