Belgium vs AlgeriaGroup H favourites Belgium start their 2014 World Cup campaign with what looks like an easy game against Algeria, but the Red Devils cannot afford to take this game lightly.

Their opposition are on a four-match winning run and they seem to have the potential to cause a shock or two at the tournament finals in Brazil.

For several years now this Belgium side have been regarded as one of the world’s most talented teams and the time has come for them to live up to the billing.

The Red Devils largely impressed in what was by no means an easy group, finishing above Croatia, Serbia, Scotland and Wales with 8-2-0 record.

Marc Wilmots’ side were then beaten by Colombia and Japan in international friendlies before sharing spoils with Ivory Coast, but the three warm-up games went according to plan.

Belgium defeated Luxembourg, Sweden and Tunisia to ensure they arrive at the tournament finals in confident mood, so no wonder they have been made 1.50 (1/2) favourites to defeat Algeria.

Star striker Romelu Lukaku, priced at 2.15 (23/20) to score anytime, has recovered from injury and he will be hoping to continue his impressive form for club and country.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Divock Origi have shaken off minor knocks received in training and they will be in contention as well.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Courtois – Alderweireld, Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen – Witsel, Fellaini – Mirallas, De Bruyne, Hazard – Lukaku.

Algeria are making their fourth appearance at the World Cup finals, but they have yet to qualify for the knockout stages.

Les Fennecs impressed in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, winning their group seven points clear of second-placed Mali before enjoying a hard-fought triumph over Burkina Faso in the play-offs.

The national team chiefs have since persuaded Tottenham Hotspur starlet Nabil Bentaleb to switch his allegiance from France, and the 19-year-old could prove to be an important player in Brazil.

While their opponents were not exactly world beaters, Algeria proved their worth in warm-up games against Slovenia, Armenia and Romania, recording three comfortable wins to further improve the atmosphere in the squad.

And with the team scoring goals for fun at the moment, both teams to score bet needs to be considered at 2.05 (21/20).

Boss Vahid Halilhodzic has no fresh injury worries at the moment, and he looks set to field his side in a 4-3-3 formation.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): M’Bolhi – Mostefa, Cadamuro, Bougherra, Ghoulam – Yebda, Bentaleb, Taider – Feghouli, Slimani, Soudani.
