Beaten UEFA Champions League finalists of 2019/20 Paris Saint Germain will be aiming to reach their second consecutive final as they host Manchester City in their semi-final first-leg at the Parc des Princes.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men emphatically dispatched of Bayern Munich last time out and will now have their aims firmly sighted on lifting their first-ever European title. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s troops will be aiming to do the same having reached the last-four of the competition for the first time under the Spaniard. As it stands, the English outfit are more fancied to reach the final at odds of 6/10 with Paddy Power. Meanwhile, the Parisians are available at 13/10.

In order for each of them to reach the final in Istanbul however, a victory in Paris looks key to their chances. Intriguingly, the hosts have already lost on two occasions at home in the UEFA Champions League this season alone to Manchester United and Bayern Munich. It goes without saying then that City will be aiming to take advantage of that having not lost a European away match since a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur over two years ago. At the current time, Guardiola’s men are slender favourites to escape the French capital with victory at a price of 23/20 with Betfair, with the hosts sitting marginally behind at 23/10. A draw to be produced in the first-leg can be backed at a price of 14/5.

Whilst the result might be slightly difficult to predict, one thing could be guaranteed and that’s goals considering the attacking talents that each side are blessed with. Sergio Aguero is suprisingly the favourite to net the opening goal of the game at the Parc des Princes despite having scored on just three occasions so far this season in all competitions. He can be backed at a price of 9/2 with William Hill. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe is apparently the most likely to strike first from the perspective of the hosts’ also at 9/2.

PSG can welcome back a few key returnees ahead of the game. Keylor Navas and Marco Verrati are likely to be fit, whilst Marquinhos and Abdou Diallo could be handed an opportunity following their respective returns. The only absentee remains Juan Bernat.

Whilst the hosts can welcome back a few key players, Manchester City are also able to restore John Stones into the squad after he was suspended for the recent Carabao Cup win against Tottenham Hotspur. He might not be immediately restored into the starting line-up however. Zack Steffen, who started at Wembley will be replaced by regular No.1 Ederson.
