Without a doubt the most interesting tie in the Champions League quarter-finals will see Serie A leaders Milan entertain reigning champions Barcelona.

The two teams faced each other in the group stages of the competition, with Barcelona recording a 3-2 victory at San Siro following the 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.

AC Milan were handed a very tough draw for the Champions League quarter-finals, but if there ever was a perfect moment to be facing arguably the best team in the world it is now.

The Rossoneri are on top of their game at the moment and are full of confidence after the 2-1 victory over AS Roma helped them keep a four-point advantage at the top of the Serie A standings.

On top of that, they have several important players back to the side after a spell on the sidelines and taking all this into account, odds of 5.00 (4/1) offered on home win at Bodog could be worth a shot.

Thiago Silva has been ruled out with a thigh injury, whereas Alexandre Pato, Ignazio Abate and Alexander Merkel are also sidelined. Mark van Bommel is suspended.

Gennaro Gattuso, Mathieu Flamini and Antonio Cassano are ineligible, but the good news is that Alessandro Nesta, Robinho and Kevin-Prince Boateng are all fit to feature.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Abbiati – Zambrotta, Nesta, Mexes, Mesbah – Nocerino, Seedorf, Aquilani – Boateng – Ibrahimovic, Robinho.

Barcelona eased off to 10-2 aggregate victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the first knockout round, but everybody at the club is aware that a tie against Milan will be no walk in the park.

The two games against the Rossoneri in the group stage proved that the Italians are capable of matching Barca for long periods of the game and everything suggests we will see a very tight clash at San Siro.

The Catalans, nonetheless, have plenty of reason for optimism, having won last nine games in all competitions and they are 1.73 (8/11) with William Hill to make it ten in a row.

Even if Barcelona are set to face Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Saturday, Pep Guardiola cannot afford to tinker with his starting line-up and he is expected to field the strongest possible side.

Adriano Correia misses out through injury, whereas Ibrahim Afellay will not be in contention even though he has made the trip to Milan. Eric Abidal remains unavailable.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Valdes – Dani Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Puyol – Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta – Sanchez, Messi, Fabregas.
