Roma vs Milan preview

This is a must-win game for Roma if they are to remain in the title race, but the problem is that Milan are in much better form than their rivals at the moment.

Despite spending a lot of money on new players, the Giallorossi are still struggling to fulfill their potential, with coach Luis Enrique unable to make this team his own.

The team have evidently raised their form over the last few weeks, beating Parma, Atalanta and Palermo in their last five league games, while they were very unlucky to lose the clashes against Lazio and Genoa.

The Giallorossi were the better team in both matches, but ended up losing all three points by conceding in the dying moments of the games.

Roma now face an uphill task against in-form Milan, but the hosts are hoping for a smile from the Lady Luck and are 3.00 (2/1) with Victor Chandler to record what would be an invaluable win.

Despite declaring that he was happy with team’s performance against Genoa, Luis Enrique is likely to make changes to the starting line-up, making sure all his players stay fresh for the upcoming games.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Stekelenburg – Rosi, Burdisso, Heinze, Angel – Pizarro, De Rossi, Gago – Lamela – Osvaldo, Bojan.

Even when the Serie A champions were experiencing certain problems at the start to the season, nobody doubted their title credentials, and the Rossoneri are now back in business.

Milan not only won six of last seven games in all competitions, but they produced several stunning performances, while showing a lot of character in the process.

The 4:3 win over Lecce showed that the Rossoneri are a great side, having come from three goals down to record an impressive victory.

The 4:1 win over Parma followed despite the fact that Maxi Allegri had opted to rest several starters, with Antonio Nocerino becoming an unlikely hero after bagging a hat-trick.

The Rossoneri, therefore, enter the Roma game high on confidence, so no wonder Sportingbet sees them as slight favourites, paying 2.60 (8/5) on away win.

Robinho, Alessandro Nesta, Mark van Bommel and Luca Antonini should start after being rested in midweek, but Gattuso, Flamini and Pato remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Abbiati – Abate, Nesta, Thiago Silva, Antonini – Seedorf, Van Bommel, Boateng – Robinho – Ibrahimovic, Cassano.
