Borussia Dortmund rediscover Champions League football 12 years after winning the competition in Munich and the German champions will fancy their chances against struggling Arsenal.

To the surprise of the footballing world, BVB easily won the Bundesliga title last term, under the guidance of very talented coach Jurgen Klopp.

The Millionaires entered the new season with virtually same squad, seeing that Ilkay Gundogan and Ivan Perisic were the only notable arrivals, whereas only Nuri Sahin left this summer.

However, Borussia have experienced some unexpected problems at the start of the new Bundesliga campaign, having won just two out of first five games, with weekend’s home defeat to Hertha giving Jurgen Klopp a real headache before the Arsenal clash.

Nevertheless, with key player Mario Goetze returning from domestic suspension, BVB are expected to show a big improvement and they are 2.25 (5/4) with William Hill to win their first group game.

Sebastian Kehl also returns from domestic ban, but Lucas Barrios, Patrick Owomoyela and Julian Koch remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller – Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer – Gundogan, Bender – Goetze, Kagawa, Grosskreutz – Lewandowski.

Arsenal are going through a major crisis at the moment, with the players struggling to win back the lost confidence.

The 2:0 defeat to Liverpool and especially 8:2 loss at Old Trafford have completely robbed the players of self-belief, so nobody was surprised to see the Gunners struggling to beat weak Swansea at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Arsenal somehow managed to qualify for the Champions League group stages by eliminating Udinese and not too many punters would dare to back the Gunners to qualify from Group F at odds of 1.40 (2/5) offered by Victor Chandler.

Arsene Wenger gave Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta full debuts in weekend’s game against Swansea, whereas Yossi Benayoun did well after coming on for Andrei Arshavin.

Gervinho and Song return to the starting line-up from domestic bans, but new signings Andre Santos and Park Chu-Young will have to wait for their chance on the bench.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Szczesny – Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs – Arteta, Song, Ramsey – Walcott, Van Persie, Gervinho.
