Real Madrid return to home comforts after securing their place in the Champions League semi-finals and victory over Valencia would be considered a big step towards the league title.

Los Che booked their place in the Europa League semis with an impressive triumph over AZ Alkmaar and they now hope to build on that result and spring a surprise at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been absolutely brilliant this season, but los Blancos need to find enough energy for the final push or else everything they worked for will be in vain.

Next couple of weeks will be crucial for Jose Mourinho’s side, whereas next two games could determine the outcome of Real’s La Liga campaign.

After playing host to Valencia, los Merengues face Atletico at Vicente Calderon and if they manage to win both games, they will make a huge step towards the league title.

Even so, odds of 1.22 (2/9) offered by Ladbrokes on Real to beat Valencia and 1.29 (2/7) offered by BetVictor on los Blancos to lift La Liga title do not really represent a real value for money.

Angel Di Maria is set for his first start after recovering from injury, while Sami Khedira is also available after resuming full training.

With Sergio Ramos missing out through suspension and Hamit Altintop out injured, Alvaro Arbeloa looks set to start at right-back.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Arbeloa, Pepe, Albiol, Marcelo – Alonso, Khedira – Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo – Benzema.

The jury is still out on Valencia and season finale is set to determine whether this season can be regarded as successful one or not.

Just when it seemed that los Che were on the downtrend and struggling to fulfill their ambitions, Unai Emery’s side produced a stunning performance to record a 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar and thus qualified for the Europa League semi-finals.

However, team’s top 4 finish in La Liga is still in danger as Valencia sit just three points ahead of fifth-placed Levante, meaning they will be very motivated to build on the performance against AZ and put a dent into Real Madrid’s title bid.

Seeing they boast the best away record outside the El Clasico rivals, odds of 4.50 (7/2) offered by Stan James on Valencia not to lose could be worth a shot.

Miguel remains sidelined through injury, but Victor Ruiz could return to the side. Boss Unai Emery is expected to make several changes to the starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Guaita – Barragan, Rami, Ruiz, Alba – Parejo, Albelda – Pablo Hernandez, Jonas, Piatti – Soldado.
