Real Betis vs Real Valladolid preview

Valladolid vs BetisSixth-placed Real Betis will be hoping to end their five-match winless run when they take on Real Valladolid, a team that can return to the top half of the standings with one point from Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Real Betis have been absolutely amazing ever since returning to the top flight some year and a half ago, showing La Liga what they had been missing while they were in Segunda.

After showing a lot of promise last season, los Verdiblancos have further improved their showings this term, and with 16 games to go, they are very much in the race for Champions League places.

Their hopes of a top 4 finish were dealt with a major blow as Pepe Mel’s side suffered back to back defeats to Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid, but this may feel as a good opportunity to return to winning ways.

BetVictor has Real Betis at 1.95 (19/20) to return to winning ways, while Coral pays 2.10 (11/10) on the hosts to score two goals or more.

Midfielder Canas misses out through suspension, while Juan Carlos, Salva Sevilla, Ruben Castro, Angel Lopez and Alex Martinez are all out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Adrian – Chica, Amaya, Perquis, Nacho – Ruben Perez, Nono – Campbell, Benat, Molina – Pabon.

Given club’s serious financial difficulties, nobody expected Real Valladolid to gain promotion to La Liga, let alone do so well in the elite division.

However, boosted by some shrewd transfer dealings, talented coach Miroslav Djukic has done brilliantly to steer his side away from danger, with Pucela spending much of the current campaign in the top half of the standings.

Real Valladolid may have picked up just one point from their last two league fixtures, but that is no sign of a dip in form as the team produced very promising displays against both Levante and Athletic Bilbao.

Star midfielder Patrick Ebert is clearly being sorely missed at the moment, but at least top scorer Manucho is back from Africa Cup of Nations duty.

Defender Marc Valiente has undergone a surgery after breaking his cheekbone in the clash with Athletic Bilbao.

Taking into account Pucela’s decent run of form, one may be tempted into taking odds of 4.50 (7/2) offered on away win at Stan James.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Hernandez – Rukavina, Rueda, Sereno, Pena – Rubio, Sastre – Larsson, Gonzalez, Bueno – Manucho.
