Rayo Vallecano vs Osasuna preview

Osasuna vs RayoRayo Vallecano are still in the race for Europa League places and they would get really close to their European dream by defeating Osasuna at Vallecas.

Their opponents are just four points clear of the bottom three and they could really use a point or three from Madrid.

Another successful season for the club from the suburbs of Madrid could easily end in European qualification if they play their cards right.

Los Franjirrojos have been going really strong until recently, but their form has dipped a great deal over the last month or so.

The team remained in eighth place despite picking up just four points from last five fixtures, but this can be seen as a great opportunity to boost their European hopes.

After winning five of last eight home matches in La Liga, Rayo Vallecano are 1.95 (19/20) at Coral to defeat Osasuna as well.

The problem is that key attacker Leo Baptistao has been ruled out for the season with a broken collarbone, while Raul Tamudo also looks set to miss out.

Roberto Roman Tito and Roberto Trashorras should be fit to play, while Piti is doubtful with a muscle injury. Alejandro Dominguez and Alejandro Gomez return from suspension.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ruben – Tito, Galvez, Figueras, Casado – Fuego, Trashorras – Bangoura, Dominguez, Piti – Delibasic.

Osasuna made a giant step towards La Liga survival as they beat Real Valladolid away from home some four weeks back, but it appears the players have started celebrating a bit too early.

As a result, the team picked up just one point from last three matches, failing to score a single goal in the process, but they, nonetheless, remained four points clear of the relegation positions.

With six games to go, los Rojillos cannot afford to relax just yet, but rather need to try and bring at least one point from Vallecas.

That is easier said than done when we know that Osasuna boast a 3-3-9 away record in La Liga, so no wonder they are 4.33 (10/3) at BetVictor to win in Madrid.

Boss Jose Luis Mendilibar faces a real selection headache as Oier and Emiliano Armenteros are suspended, while Sisi and Anthony Annan are injured.

Centre-back Ruben is also set to miss out, whereas Marc Bertran is a major doubt. Joseba Llorente returns having been ineligible to face his parent club.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Fernandez – Damia, Flano, Arribas, Nano – Loe, Silva – Cejudo, Nino, De las Cuevas – Sola.
