Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Paris Saint Germain defender Juan Bernat in the summer, according to reports.

The Spanish defender, who has also represented Bayern Munich and Valencia throughout his career, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, with Barca thought to be interested according to L’Equipe.

The Catalan club’s finances have been hugely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with boss Ronald Koeman now looking into the possibility of free transfers, with Bernat set to be on the list.

The 27-year-old has had an injury-hit campaign at the Parc des Princes in 2020/21. He suffered a cruciate ligament injury in September and is not expected to make his return to action until at least March.

PSG could yet offer him a contract extension but it is reported that they have doubts due to his injury woes. Should he leave the French capital, he will depart having made a total of 76 appearances for the club following his arrival from Bayern, scoring six goals and providing a further 10 assists.

He has also contributed to two Ligue 1 title successes, as well as winning the Coupe de France and the Coupe de La Ligue.

Bernat is once again likely to add his personal trophy haul in France with another league title. PSG can be backed at a price of 1/6 with Betfred to claim the Ligue 1 crown once again.
