Parma vs Inter preview

High-flying Parma aim to build on the good showing in Udine as they prepare to host second-placed Inter, with the Neroazzurri hoping to get a chance to close the gap behind leaders Juventus.

Following several very difficult years for the club, Parma are slowly returning to old glory days, and while they are still far away from fighting for the league title, at least they are headed in the right direction.

Some shrewd transfer dealings in the summer helped reinforce the squad and il Ducali were soon rewarded for their efforts in the transfer market.

Despite the difficult fixture list, Parma enjoyed a bright start to the season, climbing to the top half of the standings, although they did slip to 9th after picking just two points from last three games.

Buoyed by the 2-2 draw in Udine, il Ducali now hope to return to winning ways, with Sportingbet paying 2.90 (19/10) on home win.

Jaime Valdes and Cristian Zaccardo are both injury doubts, while Marco Parolo is suspended. Dorlan Pabon, Fabiano Santacrocce, Daniele Galloppa and Washington MacEachen are all out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Mirante – Zaccardo, Paletta, Lucarelli – Rosi, Marchionni, Valdes, Musacci, Gobbi – Amauri, Biabiany.

Inter missed a great opportunity to close the gap behind Juventus last weekend as they could only muster a 1-1 draw with Cagliari, but they could easily get another chance.

With Juventus facing a tricky trip to San Siro, the Neroazzurri could decrease the four-point gap at Ennio Tardini.

That will be no easy task now that Inter have failed to win any of their last three games, but at least all first team regulars will be well rested after missing the Rubin Kazan clash.

Given that Inter won 10 of 12 away games this season, odds of 2.60 (8/5) offered at BetVictor on away win could be worth a shot.

Wesley Sneijder and Fredy Guarin are both set to return, but they will probably have to settle for a place on the bench.

Antonio Cassano and Walter Gargano miss out through suspension, while Cristian Chivu, Dejan Stankovic, Joel Obi and Gabi Mudingayi remain in the infirmary.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-3): Handanovic – Rannochia, Samuel, Juan Jesus – Nagatomo, Guarin, Cambiasso, Zanetti – Coutinho, Milito, Palacio.
