Milan vs Parma preview

Parma vs MilanIn order to better prepare for the upcoming clash with Barcelona, Milan were allowed to play their match against Parma on Friday, which should see Max Allegri field his strongest possible side.

This is definitely a good thing as the Rossoneri may need to produce an impressive showing if they are to beat very good il Ducali.

AC Milan were always going to face an uphill task this season after a number of star players left in the summer, and things looked pretty gloomy following the poor start to the season.

The Rossoneri, nonetheless, managed to return to the right track and are now on the road to save this season.

Mario Balotelli’s arrival was obviously a huge boost for the club, and the Italy international wasted no time in leaving his mark, having scored 3 goals in his first 2 league appearances.

With the forward ineligible for the Champions League clash against Barcelona, he should be able to give his best against Parma, and is 2.70 (17/10) with Paddy Power to continue his scoring run.

Milan, on the other hand, are 1.50 (1/2) with Stan James to further improve their league position with three points from this match.

Given that Stephan El Shaarawy is carrying a knee injury, there is every chance he will be rested against Parma, but the good news is Ricardo Montolivo and Kevin Constant both return.

Massimo Ambrosini misses out through suspension, whereas Nigel de Jong, Daniele Bonera and Didac Vila are out injured. Giampaolo Pazzini and Bartosz Salamon are injury doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Abbiati – De Sciglio, Mexes, Zapata, Constant – Flamini, Montolivo, Muntari – Niang, Balotelli, Boateng.

Parma are safely tucked away in mid table at the moment and they go into this game without any pressure, although Roberto Donadoni’s side are currently very low on confidence.

After winning three straight games at the turn of the year to cement their place in the top half of the league standings, il Ducali suffered a huge dip in form and are now on a five-match winless run.

While 1-1 draws with Juventus at home and Chievo away may be considered good results, back to back defeats to Napoli and Fiorentina have left a bad taste in the mouth.

Seeing that Parma could only muster a goalless draw with Genoa last weekend, they should be very motivated to end the barren run of results at San Siro.

Backing il Ducali to win might be a long shot, but there is some value in backing them to score, at odds of 1.73 (8/11) offered at Coral.

Roberto Donadoni will have Marco Marchionni and Alejando Rosi return from suspension, but Daniele Galloppa, McDonald Mariga, Fabiano Santacrocce and Antonio Mirante all miss out through injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Pavarini – Rosi, Lucarelli, Paletta, Gobi – Marchionni, Valdes, Parolo – Biabiany, Belfodil, Sansone.
