Atalanta vs InterHigh-flying Atalanta are hoping for a straight return to winning ways after losing to Sampdoria at the weekend, but the Nerazzurri arrive in Bergamo with similar aspirations having ended their winless run with a 4-2 triumph over Hellas Verona.

Orobici returned to the elite division in the summer of 2011, and they have since impressed to become a genuine top table side.

Backed by arguably Italy’s most famous youth academy, Atalanta didn’t feel the need to sign too many new players this summer, with Luca Cigarini and Mario Yepes the only notable arrivals.

Orobici in turn had a pretty slow start to the season, losing four of first five league fixtures, but they quickly returned to the right track, proving they have too much quality to be involved in the relegation tussle.

Straight victories over Udinese, Chievo and Lazio saw Stefano Colantuono’s side climb to the top half of the standings, so chances are nobody at the club will be too downhearted by weekend’s defeat to Sampdoria.

And even if Inter arrive in Bergamo in confident mood, Atalanta won’t be afraid to attack their more illustrious opponents, so you might want to consider both teams to score bet at 1.91 (10/11).

Boss Stefano Colantuono is still unable to field his strongest line-up, with some very important players out on the sidelines.

Giulio Migliaccio, Giacomo “Jack” Bonaventura, Stefano Lucchini and Luigi Giorgi continue to miss out through injury. Constantin Nica is suspended.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Consigli – Bellini, Yepes, Stendardo, Del Grosso – Raimondi, Cigarini, Carmona, Brienza – Moralez – Denis.

Unlike their next opponents, Inter squad underwent major changes in the summer, but the Nerazzurri, nonetheless, enjoyed a strong start to the league campaign.

At one point it even looked as though they might mount a serious title challenge, but it is slowly becoming clear Walter Mazzarri’s side are instead likely to fight for a top 5 finish.

The recent three-match winless run was enough to get everyone at the club worried, but the 4-2 victory over in-form Hellas Verona helped ease some of the pressure on the players.

Inter currently sit four points adrift of Champions League places, meaning they should have more than enough motives to try and win in Bergamo.

And even if that is not going to be an easy task, the Nerazzurri are 2.15 (23/20) favourites to claim maximum points.

Walter Mazzarri will have Samir Handanovic back from suspension, whereas Hugo Campagnaro remains a major doubt.

Ishak Belfodil is banned, whilst Javier Zanetti, Cristian Chivu, McDonald Mariga and Diego Milto are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Handanovic – Ranocchia, Samuel, Jesus – Jonathan, Guarin, Taider, Cambiasso, Nagatomo – Alvarez – Palacio.
