Atalanta vs Juventus preview

Juventus aim to continue the 18-match unbeaten run in Serie A, but the run will be put to a serious test against very good Atalanta side.

The fact that Atalanta needed just several weeks to escape the relegation zone despite the six-point penalty proves that Orobici have been pretty impressive this season.

New signings Geman Denis, Maxi Moralez, Luca Cigarini and Ezequiel Schelotto have been absolutely brilliant in the first part of the season, although boss Stefano Colantuono has got to be given credit for making the team gel so quickly.

The team from Bergamo couldn’t avoid defeats to title contenders Milan and Lazio after the winter break, so they are now hoping to end the poor run against Juventus and maybe even inflict the leaders the first league defeat of the season.

Seeing that Atalanta are very convincing in Bergamo, the odds of 4.75 (15/4) offered on home win at BetVictor could be worth a shot.

Carlos Carmona misses out after picking up his fourth yellow card, whereas Stefano Lucchini is also suspended, having been sent off against Lazio. Matteo Brighi and Daniele Capelli remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): Consigli – Raimondi, Ferri, Manfredini, Peluso – Schelotto, Cigarini, Padoin, Bonaventura – Moralez – Denis.

Juventus may not have been too satisfied with the 1:1 draw against Cagliari immediately after the game, but the Bianconeri were certainly happy to remain at the top after Milan were defeated by Inter in Derby della Madonnina.

The Bianconeri thus extended their unbeaten run to amazing 18 games, so it is not surprising that they are now 1.91 (10/11) with 888sport to beat Atalanta in Bergamo.

Antonio Conte’s side appear to have suffered a small dip in form of late, seeing that they failed to score more than one goal in five of their last six games in all competitions.

That is probably the reason why new signing Marco Borriello is set to be preferred to Alessandro Matri, and that should be the only change to the side that started the Cagliari game.

Fabio Quagliarella and Eljero Elia are sidelined through injury and they are the only unavailable players at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio – Pepe, Borriello, Vucinic.
