Stuttgart go into the game in confident mood following the 3-1 away win over Augsburg, whereas Werder hope to build on the hard-fought draw against Borussia Moenchengladbach.

VFB Stuttgart may have had a pretty slow start to the season, but the team have shown a massive improvement after the winter break and they have been absolutely brilliant over the last couple of months.

The Swabians are unbeaten in last eight games and have won six of those, thus climbing to 5th place in the Bundesliga standings.

Bruno Labbadia’s side climbed to Europa League places with a win over Augsburg and they even have a chance to catch fourth-placed Borussia M’gladbach and achieve Champions League qualification.

In order to keep their Champions League hopes alive, Stuttgart need to win every one of their next four games and they are 1.91 (10/11) with 188bet to beat Werder and make a step in the right direction.

Midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, while Khalid Boulahrouz and Johan Audel remain long-term casualties.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Ulreich – Sakai, Tasci, Niedermeier, Molinaro – Kvist, Gentner – Harnik, Hajnal, Schieber – Ibisevic.

Unlike Stuttgart, Werder Bremen enjoyed a lot of success in the opening stage of the league campaign, but they suffered a big dip in form in the second part of the season.

After winning just 2 of their last 14 Bundesliga games, Thomas Schaaf’s team slipped to eighth in the overall standings and they now face an uphill struggle in their attempt to achieve European qualification.

Werder may be just two points behind 6th-placed Bayer Leverkusen, but after taking just 6 points from last 8 games, they cannot be trusted to catch die Werkself in last four games.

The Weserstadion outfit will try everything to win this game, but there is a reason why Stan James pays as much as 4.33 (10/3) on away win.

Full-back Sebastian Boenisch is suspended following his red card against Borussia, while Mustapha Ekici, Tim Borowski and Dominik Schmidt remain sidelined.

Aaron Hunt is closing in on his fitness, whereas Brazilian midfielder Wesley should be available for selection after recovering from injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-1-2): Wiese – Papastathopoulos, Affolter, Naldo, Silvestre – Junuzovic, Fritz, Schmitz – Marin – Pizarro, Rozenberg.
