Roma vs Siena preview

Still looking for the first win of the season, Roma have no choice but to go all guns blazing at Siena, the team that also picked up just one point from first two games.

Heavy investment in the playing squad has yet to produce results for Roma, seeing that the Giallorossi were not only eliminated from Europe, but also picked up just one point from their first two Serie A games.

After losing at home to Cagliari, Roma showed some improvement in the game against struggling Inter, although they were lucky not to concede at Giuseppe Meazza after the Neroazzurri had missed several glorious chances.

Luis Enrique had enough time to prepare his side for this clash, so everybody at the club are hoping for the first win of the season, with Roma 1.57 (4/7) with William Hill to claim maximum points. William Hill review is available here.

Keeper Maarten Stekelenburg is out after suffering a head injury against Inter, meaning that Bogdan Lobont starts between the sticks.

Jose Angel returns to the side after serving suspension, whereas Juan and Cicinho remain sidelined. David Pizzarro and Fernando Gago are vying for a place in midfield alongside De Rossi and Pjanic.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Lobont – Perotta, Kjaer, Burdisso, Jose Angel – Gago, De Rossi, Pjanic – Bojan, Totti, Borini.

Siena were pretty impressive in Serie B last season under the guidance of Antonio Conte, so the club chiefs decided not to make wholesale changes to the squad before the start of Serie A campaign.

Gaetano D’Agostino, Mattia Destro, Daniele Manini and few others arrived to improve competition for places, but it looks as though the Bianconeri still lack some quality as well as experience to compete at this level.

After beating Torino in Coppa Italia, Siena brought one point from very difficult away game against Catania, but they could do nothing to avoid a defeat to Juventus at the weekend.

Seeing that the Bianconeri failed to score a single goal in first two Serie A games and that Roma are likely to take control of the match at Olimpico, there is a good value in odds of 2.20 (6/5) offered by Sportingbet on Siena not to score.

Reginaldo and Angella remain sidelined, but we should see some changes to the starting line-up, with Pablo Gonzalez expected to make way for Marcelo Larrondo.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Brkic – Vitiello, Rossettini, Terlizi, Del Grosso – Manini, Bolzoni, D’Agostino, Brienza – Calaio, Larrondo.
