PSG vs BordeauxStade d’Angondje in Libreville, Gabon will see Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Coupe de France winners Bordeaux battle it out for the Trophee des Champions.

Having impressed to win the first league title after 19 years, the Saints could do little to prevent Carlo Ancelotti from leaving for Real Madrid, but they seem to have signed a decent replacement in Laurent Blanc.

While club officials were not too active in the summer transfer window, they produced quite a coup by winning the race for Edinson Cavani, and also adding the likes of Marquinhos and Lucas Digne to their ranks.

With no first team regulars leaving, the squad are clearly stronger than last term, although everybody is waiting to see whether Ibrahimovic and Cavani can establish a decent partnership up front.

The jury will remain out on the star duo as the Uruguayan will not be taking part in Trophee des Champions, but PSG are, nonetheless, 1.57 (4/7) favourites with Ladbrokes to win in regular time.

New signings Cavani, Marquinhos and Digne have only joined pre-season training, with the young Frenhcman the only one of the trio in contention for the Bordeaux game.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Menez misses out through injury, while Antoine Conte and Adrien Rabiot are away on international duty.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Sirigu – Jallet, Silva, Alex, Maxwell – Lucas, Verratti, Matuidi, Pastore – Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi.

Bordeaux were far from impressive last term, finishing the league campaign in seventh place, but the excellent Coupe de France run ended up saving their season.

Les Girondins had a pretty favourable draw, having defeated the likes of Chateauroux, Moulins, Raon-l’Etape, Lens, Troyes and Evian on the road to the title, but they should still be congratulated for winning the coveted title.

The squad have since undergone minor changes, with Benoit Tremoulinas and Anthony Modeste leaving, and Jeremue Brechet and Lucas Orban arriving.

Even so, Francois Gillot’s men have been pretty unconvincing during pre-season, defeating Mechelen and Barnsley, losing to Zulte Waregem and Middlesbrough and sharing spoils with Evian.

With the team facing an uphill task against PSG, no wonder they are as much as 7.00 (6/1) with bet365 to surprise their more illustrious opponents.

Boss Francis Gillot faces all kinds of problems ahead of the trip to Gabon, with a number of first team regulars unavailable for the PSG clash.

Brechet, Planus and Henrique misses out through suspension, while Rolan, Diabate, Faubert, Traore and Bellion are injured and new signing Orban is ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-1-4-1): Carrasso – Mariano, Chalme, Savic, Poundje – Sane, Sertic – Maurice-Belay, Obraniak, Ben Khalfallah – Saivet.
