PSG vs Bordeaux 2-0Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping to put extra pressure on title rivals Monaco with an early victory over Bordeaux, a team that finally ended a four-match losing run as they beat high-flying Saint Etienne.

Having won the previous league campaign in style, the Saints were again seen as the main contenders for the Ligue 1 trophy in spite of the emergence of Monaco.

And with the likes of Cavani, Digne and Marquinhos added to what had already been a star-studded squad, the French giants duly delivered.

Laurent Blanc’s men gave Monaco a lifeline as they could only muster a 1-1 draw with Guingamp last weekend, scoring a late goal to avoid defeat.

As a result, their advantage at the top melted to three points, with PSG now priced at 1.25 (1/4) to return to winning ways against Bordeaux.

Meanwhile, the Saints have completed a £19 million capture of Yohan Cabaye, who should be in contention to make a debut at Parc des Princes.

Ezequiel Lavezzi and Christophe Jallet are definitely out, whereas Thiago Silva and Adrien Rabiot are major doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Sirigu – van der Wiel, Alex, Marquinhos, Maxwell – Verratti, Motta, Matuidi – Cavani, Ibrahimovic, Lucas Moura.

Unlike their next opponents, Bordeaux have been on a major downtrend of late, although they have been exceeding expectations this season.

Les Girondins recovered well from the dismal start to the season and ended the first part of the season on a high, winning four straight matches before sharing spoils with Marseille at Stade Velodrome.

Bordeaux then started the New Year well, winning the Coupe de la Ligue tie against Raon-l’Etape, before losing two league matches and crashing out of both domestic Cup competitions.

Francois Gillot’s men then produced a very good performance to beat Ligue 1 high-flyers Saint Etienne, which should keep them in good stead for the trip to Parc des Princes.

And even though they are clearly underdogs here, Bordeaux can be backed to score at least one goal, at odds of 2.20 (6/5).

The boss has received some good news as experienced defender Marc Planus resumed full training, but Guillaume Hoarau, Ludovic Obraniak, Diego Rolan and Jussie are not yet ready to return.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Carrasso – Mariano, Henrique, Sane, Orban – Sertic, N’Guemo, Traore – Faubert, Saivet, Maurice-Belay.
