Lazio can make a giant step towards Champions League qualification with a win at Olimpico as the Biancocelesti are now three points clear of Napoli, a team that need a win or at least a draw to remain in contention for a top 3 finish.

Edy Reja’s side have been heavily criticizes from the very start to the season, but with just eight more games to go the Biancocelesti sit in 3rd place, three points clear of their top 3 rivals.

The team are clearly going through a rough patch at the moment, with three defeats in last four games a very disappointing run, especially when we know that Lazio faced sides like Bologna, Catania, Cagliari and Parma in the process.

It is now time for Edy Reja’s men to stand up and be counted as the win over Napoli can really boost team’s Champions League hopes. BetVictor pays 2.80 (9/5) on home win.

Given that Lazio have won five of their last six home games in Serie A, the Biancocelesti seem to have reason for optimism after all.

Boss Edy Reja has some important missings at the moment, with Miroslav Klose, Senad Lulic, Andre Dias and Marius Stankevicius all ruled out through injury.

Stefan Radu remains injury doubt, but midfielder Matuzalem could start after recovering from a calf problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Marchetti – Scaloni, Diakite, Biava, Konko – Ledesma, Matuzalem – Gonzalez, Hernanes, Mauri – Rocchi.

Having largely struggled in the first part of the season as well as after the winter break, Napoli showed a lot of improvement at the beginning of February, hinting they would be able to kick-start their season.

The run of six wins in all competitions saw Azzurri return into contention for a top 3 finish in Serie A, but Walter Mazzarri’s side are again experiencing certain problems.

After winning just one of their last five games and going into the game on the back of the 3-0 defeat at Juventus Arena, Napoli cannot really be considered favourites to win this game, but they certainly have enough quality to create a surprise.

Nonetheless, seeing that Lazio are also in a difficult position and without several important players, odds of 2.75 (7/4) offered by Sportingbet on away win could be worth a shot.

Walter Gargano and Jose Zuniga miss out through suspension, whereas Marco Donadel and Christian Maggio remain sidelined. Andrea Dossena is doubtful with a calf injury.

Walter Mazzarri is, therefore, forced to switch to 4-3-2-1 formation, also known as the Christmas Tree, but that shouldn’t prove to be a problem for such an experienced side.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): De Sanctis – Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Britos, Aronica – Dzemaili, Inler, Hamsik – Lavezzi, Pandev – Cavani.
