Leonardo: No Muntari problem

Inter boss Leonardo is adamant he has no problem with Sulley Muntari after the midfielder was visibly furious with the coach when he was substituted during the Genoa game.

“There is no Muntari problem. Muntari is important for the squad, not just as a player, but also as part of the group dynamic. The players love him and try to protect him.

“I spoke to him very clearly: the important thing is to maintain this hunger and enthusiasm, then after that come the tactical choices.

“Against Genoa there was the expression of a sentiment that could’ve been tied to many things. He wasn’t just angry with me, but rather angry with himself and frustration at not being able to do things.

“Now he must decide what to do. If he does remain, it will be to make choices tougher for me and prove himself. These are important times for a player.”

The Brazilian tactician has revived Inter and led the Neroazzurri to three straight victories, and if he keeps up the good work, Inter could easily return to the title race.

The Neroazzurri are 11 points short of leaders Milan, but with two games in hand, meaning they still have a good chance to defend the Serie A title. 888Sport pays 3.50 (5/2) on Inter to win the Serie A title.
