Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho has admitted that he has had to endure a ‘very difficult’ start to the season.

The Englishman was constantly linked with a departure from the Signal Iduna Park in the summer, with Manchester United talked up as a potential suitor.

The rumours appear to have affected his form thus far with Sancho taking until early January to score his first Bundesliga goal. However, he has now scored in back-to-back league games and now looks close to the form that saw him score 17 and provide 17 in the league last season.

Sancho has admitted that he glad to be over the rough patch that disturbed in the early parts of the campaign.

Talking to bundesliga.com, he said: “Obviously this season has been very difficult for me personally. So I knew when I went away, I just focused on my game and came back raring to go.

“I’m working hard every day in training and on the pitch so I’m just happy to get my goals and assists.”

Borussia Dortmund are back in action on Saturday evening as they come up against Mainz 05 on home soil. Sancho can be backed at a price of 5/1 with Betfred to net the opening goal of the match.
